NAIROBI, Kenya, Jul 7 – The Kenya shilling closed the week trading at 103.75 against 103.95 shillings to the dollar.
Commercial Bank of Africa Treasury Department said the shilling traded quietly against the dollar in Friday’s session with limited activity driving the dollar shilling currency pair in either direction.
The major market players remained quiet on Friday with little expectations as the week closed without any major expectations for any currency changes.
The Pound Sterling was in the meantime, trading at 134.00 shillings buying and 134.30 shillings selling while the Euro is dealing at 118.45 buying, against 118.70 shillings selling.
100 Japanese Yen are trading at 91.25 buying and selling at 91.45 shillings, while the South African Rand is now at 7.70 buying and 7.73 selling.
Regionally, the Uganda Shilling is buying at 34.50 and selling at 34.90 while to the Tanzania currency; the Kenya shilling is dealing at 21.45 shillings against 21.75 shillings.
